About the Event
OCLC is pleased to offer "TMQ Book Blitz I”, the popular course developed by Deborah Fritz and presented by The MARC of Quality (TMQ) trainers. This is a 4-day face-to-face class at King County Library System Service Center in Issaquah, Washington. The workshop will be held from 9 AM - 4 PM each day (you will need to attend all 4 days). “TMQ Book Blitz I” is a beginner’s workshop on bibliographic description, providing access points, and copy cataloging; this workshop covers books only. Whether you are copy cataloging or making original records, this workshop will teach you the essential cataloging rules and MARC standards that you need to know, and how they fit together. You will learn how to find your way around the basic cataloging tools currently in use in libraries at this time--the Anglo American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2R), Library of Congress Rule Interpretations (LCRI) and the MARC coding standards (MARC21).
For more information on the course, go to http://www.marcofquality.com/trn/trnindex.html.
This workshop is a Washington State clock hour offering for school personnel.
Continuing education grants may be available through Washington State Library; for details, see http://www.sos.wa.gov/library/libraries/training/continuEd.aspx.
