Call For Proposals

The Information Literacy Advisory Group of Oregon along with the OLA Library Instruction Round Table, the Oregon Writing and English Advisory Committee and ACRL-Oregon invite you to submit proposals for the 6th annual Oregon IL Summit.

Send us your ideas for panels, papers, presentations, round-tables, workshops on best practices and pilot projects around information literacy...we would love to hear about your work.

This year’s theme, “Oregon’s Information Ecology:  Cultivating Student Success Along the Academic Continuum” focuses on growing higher ed’s cash crop; life-long learners. Of special interest are the relationships that keep Oregon’s information literacy environment healthy. Tell us about your interdisciplinary partnerships and fruitful collaborations across institutions and disciplines. Topics of interest might include ways to cross-fertilize and expand critical thinking, bridging information literacy gaps for students as they transition through levels of education, strategies for addressing a range of student needs within one class or discipline (less experienced students in a class with more experienced students), and creative ways to evolve and grow life-long learners all along the academic continuum.

The day will begin with an update on information literacy in Oregon, including discussion about the Common Core State Standards and implications for secondary and higher ed IL programs.

Deadline for submitting proposals is April 20th

Submit proposal form via email to CFP Coordinator:
Pam Kessinger, Portland Community College, pkessing@pcc.edu.
Deadline:  April 20, 2012
