About the Event
CopyNight is a monthly social gathering of people interested in
restoring balance in copyright law. We meet over drinks to discuss new
developments and build social ties between artists, engineers,
librarians, filmmakers, academics, lawyers, and others interested in
copyright and free culture issues.
In the last year we've talked about pirate radio, tattooing, Joyce
scholarship, publishing e-books, Google (it seems like we talk about
Google every month!), podcasting, and everything in between.

I hope to see some of you there! Many of our important library
ethical issues are being played out in the intellectual property
sphere. It's enriching to hear how IP law is having an impact on
people from so many different backgrounds. You'll never think
copyright is dry and dull after attending a few CopyNights!
