About the Event
This two-day online workshop gives participants a general overview of the WorldCat Collection Analysis service. This service allows institutions to use their WorldCat holdings data to analyze the current status of their collection as well as compare it to collections at other institutions.
Libraries can evaluate their collection by age, language, material format and audience level through a subject matrix based on classification scheme. Comparisons against other institutions (individually or in groups) are based on overlap and uniqueness. Participants will view demonstrations of these functionalities and discuss the ways these data can be used in their library setting. Administration functions of the service will also be reviewed.
NOTE: This course is designed for individual participation. Regardless of whether you attend as an individual or as a group, the fee for this online workshop will be charged for each person who views the session. All participants must register separately. This two-day workshop runs Monday, August 24th and Tuesday, August 25th from 1-3pm both days. Cost is $150 and offers 3 hours of CE credit.
