About the Event
A major goal for embarking on digital programs is to promote and provide access to our wonderful collections. Metadata is what enables us to provide that access, but what is metadata? And who is this Dublin Core we've been hearing about? This one-hour seminar will provide an overview of metadata basics for digital projects, including metadata terminology, types and strategies for creating the best metadata for your audiences' research needs. Participants also will be introduced to Dublin Core, a popular metadata standard used by a variety of digital collections around the world. This workshop is the first of a three-part series on metadata standards for digital projects. Come hear what the metadata buzz is about, and discover which metadata standard works best for your digital collections.
This free online one-hour class is also offered at 1pm the same day. Registration is required. One hour of CE credit is available.
