About the Event

Crafts are some of the most popular library programs but they can be expensive! With the right tricks, a little glue, some scissors, a little bit of money and a lot of innovation – you can create a successful crafts program for your library. Join Elizabeth Saxton for a discussion of crafting on the cheap and learn trips and tricks for inexpensive crafts programs. Saxton will share ideas for jewelry and keychains crafts, recycled materials crafts and paper crafts. All craft ideas presented will be $20 or under.

  • Identify tactics for controlling cost in craft programming
  • Identify ways to make use of existing material in the library in teen craft programs

Who Should Attend

Young adult librarians, school librarians, teachers, administrators, and any literacy-focused professional who works directly with teens and tweens.

Certificates of participation are available for webinar attendees who attend the entire 1 hour webinar.

Elizabeth Saxton is the Senior Subject Department Librarian for Youth Services at Cleveland Public Library where she has worked for eight years. She developed an ability to keep teens busy on as little money as possible as a branch teen librarian and has a rich crafting fantasy life of her own.

Cost: $29 for students, $39 for individual YALSA members, $49 for all other individuals, •$195 for group registrations. YALSA’s group rate provides an institution with 10 individual logins
