Geocoding for Legislative Advocacy

Resource Type: Archived webinar

Topics: Reference

Meeting Description:

The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance used the Cicero Legislative Information API on

their website to help their constituents find their legislative districts and

representatives. This is just one potential use of the Cicero legislative matching API

that we will be discussing during Geocoding for Legislative Advocacy on Thursday,

December 1, 2011, at 11 a.m. Pacific time. During this free webinar, find out how to

match the addresses in your organization’s database to district IDs, district maps, and

contact information of elected officials.

During this online event, Azavea's Abby Fretz will explain what the Cicero API (or

Application Programming Interaface) is and how it can be integrated into your website or

database. We will also hear from the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance's Thomas

Taylor on how the GPCA used the Cicero API to help match constituents with their city

council district.

Questions addressed during this webinar include:

What does Azavea's Cicero API do?
How tech savvy does someone need to be to use the Cicero API?
How are organizations leveraging the tool?
This webinar is appropriate for nonprofits and libraries
