Civic Engagement: A Success Model for Libraries Serving Older Adults (ALA 2009)

Following the Dr. Jean E. Coleman Library Outreach Lecture (on aging), two Libraries for the Future Lifelong Access Institute fellows explore tools to attract and engage older adults in their communities and libraries. Multnomah County Library’s partnership with Life by Design NW is an experiment in collaboration that offers education, connection and support for boomers in transition. Tips and strategies will be offered for attendees to take back to their local libraries as they plan library services for those over 50.
